Margie Maisonet is the Managing Partner of Federal Practice Group (FPG). Margie has extensive experience in preservation programs and was designated as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) by HUD’s Office of Multifamily Housing when she served as a trainer in the successful Partners in Housing program in 2012 and 2013. Current engagements include serving as a senior member of the Financial Advisor team to HUD’s Office of Recapitalization where she has worked on RAD, Section 236 projects, Mark-to-Market and the Section 202 SPRAC program. She is also as a SME on SP Group’s contract to rewrite HUD’s chapter on budget-based rent increases. She is the co-founder of a joint initiative with The Gates Dunaway Group with whom she conducts preservation training that emphasizes using HUD mortgage insurance and subsidy programs to preserve affordable housing for the long term.
Margie has over 25 years of affordable housing experience, including 15 years at the Department of Housing and Urban Development where she specialized in working on troubled properties. In her final capacity, she served as the Director of HUD’s Departmental Enforcement Center as a member of the Senior Executive Service. She is also a Senior Fellow with the Partnership for Public Service.
